An ode to Monet’s pond, with floating flowers and meditative light.
This painting is built tone-on-tone, with the compositional emphasis in the upper half. The color patches play and dance with one another. By painting the lower half very suggestively, an upward force emerges, creating an almost meditative feeling. A canvas that serves as an ode to Monet’s pond, an impression of light and flowers floating on the nearly motionless water.
